Hi! I’m Marie.
This is my first semester training at the DKC. I’m a freshman at UMW and the co-president of the UMW Ballroom Club. I am currently working on a special major in Astrobiology. I got into astrobiology in 8th grade when I took my first astronomy based class: theoretical astrobiology. From there, my interest piqued, and I’ve been enthralled by space ever since.
In addition to space, I am also passionate about my dancing. I’ve been practicing ballroom dance for over a decade now. With my boyfriend, I host the UMW Ballroom Club where we teach our peers ballroom dance. I even made the poster for the club!
While doing my first assignment of the year, I had Markiplier playing in the background. I don’t usually watch YouTube unless it is for the purpose of providing background noise. I find Markiplier to be very consistent in his content and soothing in his voice. Thus, it is easy for me not to pay attention to his videos and have them play in the background. This is the first video of a series of his that I’ve been enjoying. I like its high energy.
